I never intended to do this. To be a voice people would look to. For the better part of my life I’ve always been a performer. It’s what I love. It’s what I still do. But somehow expressing my views, my empathy and moral clarity online allowed me to create a safe space for community, engagement and connection. And for that I am grateful.

For four years I hosted a podcast where I interviewed people I admired, valued their work and shared common views with . I ended that podcast in December of 2023 because the workload was becoming too much to do alone in addition to the other aspects of my career, but I always knew I wanted to relaunch it in a different version I just didn’t know what or how.

So that leads me to this substack! I’m so excited to bring #WeNeedToTalk to you in this version. Writings, audio notes and eventually live conversations with some of my favorite people. I love connecting with others, being in a position to educate, encourage critical thinking , nuance and effectively communicate things that need to be discussed. So it is my hope that this publication encourages you, inspires you and gives you things to think about and talk about in your own circles. Because everything begins with a conversation.
